PART 1: THE FIXY VAN RIDES AGAIN
LINDA HULL was the delighted by her haul: 49.16 kilos of digital waste. All the devices, bits and pieces will now be taken apart and either repaired and given to those who need it (repairing the digital divide) or it will be recyled. Nothing will go to landfill. This is terrific news for everyone and we are grateful to Linda for crossing the Somerset boundary to visit us.
We are hoping to find a location where we can do this on a permanent basis but, like many such things, it’s more complicated than it looks. We will keep you posted!
The morning of the Polli Party on October 12 was action packed. There was so much for kids to do: make lanterns and seed bombs, popping frogs and beautiful butterflies. The beautiful banner squares were on display (they will be assembled later in the year) and lots more were made to add to them. A spectacular array of bulbs was available with every single attendee entitled to 40 and later in the day Sara Price demonstrated how to make a bulb lasagne (very much not for eating!) Farrington should be looking gorgeous come the spring!
Photographs entered in the photo contest were spectacular, it was hard to choose a winner. But Phoebe Farrer and Tony Nineham were the most popular.
At lunchtime there was a scrumptious Pumpkin soup made by Gary Johnstone (thanks Gary) and the recipe is below.
There was too much to cram into a single newsletter so…watch this space…
